A Town Unlike Any Other.

My family and I had so much fun in Serenity. We rented a cabin in Serenity Hills State Park for Squatch Watch. This is something we have wanted to do for a long time. We enjoyed the hiking trails and observing a Bigfoot who was watching our cabin. It was an amazing experience to see something of myth and legend. We celebrated Thanksgiving while in Serenity, which was a nice change of pace from the city. We plan to make this an annual event. The people are all very nice and helpful. Be careful while in the woods, especially if you go off the trail. Pay attention and follow the rules, and no matter what, if you hear whistling, don’t whistle back. That was a long night.

Serenity, Ohio, is a rare find in the Appalachians. A few frat buddies and I went on a camping trip in the middle of Hocking Hills State Park. The hiking trails are well-maintained, and the Caves are amazing to explore. We went kayaking down the river gorge, where we stopped and camped on the banks farther in the Appalachians. It was a beautiful area with some interesting wildlife sounds around. We didn’t find any Bigfoots, but we did hear tree knocks while camping. This place is a must-see to hike and explore.
Ghost Girls Paranormal – November 1, 2023
My group came to Serenity to investigate the Serenity Insane Asylum, reported to be haunted. This place did not disappoint. We captured shadow people, heard singing, and saw the spot on the floor where Rose, a patient at the Asylum, died and went unnoticed for several days. While in Serenity, we were told about the tunnels under the town where a portal reportedly resides under Whitlock Hall on the Serenity University Campus. The tunnels were terrifying as we came across homeless people and those in masks who wanted to scare people on Halloween. We never did find the portal, but with all the extra paranormal information we found at the University library, we plan to come back to investigate more of the town, especially the six cemeteries reported to be haunted by Barbara Mimms.

I’m a former student at Serenity University, and I’m here to let everyone know how grateful I am for my experience at Serenity. The people are so welcoming and helpful; you’re not treated any differently from anyone else, even as a student. The nightlife is the best, and I will miss the parties, but what I will miss most is the vibe of the town. You can’t spend any small amount of time in Serenity without experiencing the paranormal. We had a ghost we called Thomas in our residence hall; he would pull our hair or tap on the walls to get our attention. My roommate and I were scared until we performed an Ouija board session and learned that Thomas just wanted to make new friends. He told us he passed away from Tuberculosis in the Insane Asylum on the hill when it was a hospital ward. He is a young man who just enjoys watching the lives of those who pass through the residence. Serenity is not like other towns, and you can sense this the moment you cross the county line. I’ll come back to celebrate the Halloween Block Party in October.

I brought my family back to Serenity in 2022 to do some camping, hiking, and Squatch-watching. We had a blast as we rented space at an RV camping area in Serenity Hills State Park. We were all alone, thanks to the wintertime, which made our experience that much more enjoyable. Be warned, though, that you should keep a fire going through the night to keep critters and cryptids away. One night, when we were camping, we put the fire out before bed. That night, we heard tapping and banging on our RV, which scared us to death. When the sun rose on a sleepless night, we found large canine footprints near our camper. We were told by other hikers that it was from a Dogman who wanted to see who we were and why we were in their area. From that night forward, we always kept the fire going at night to keep critters and cryptids away. We were given a list of rules of the Appalachian Woods, and we followed them to the letter. We intend to come back to visit during the summer months so we can go fishing and explore the cave system up on Serenity Ridge. I would definitely recommend it to others as it will be an experience you won’t soon forget, but follow the rules, or you may never be welcome back.

I live four hours south of Serenity in West Virginia. Some hunting buddies and I decided to take a trip to the foothills of Appalachia to hunt some deer and ducks. This is something we won’t be doing again because of the sheer number of Cryptids that reside in the area. We saw a giant black cat hiding in a tree above us. We slowly backed away with our guns raised just in case. The roar of the cat let out a scream that echoed across the valley we were camping in. We also heard whoops and tree knocks that let us know that even though Squatch Watch is over, Bigfoots remain in the area all year long. We will never come back to hunt, but we will come back to fish, hike, and look for proof of cryptids.
